Great! I am so glad it has inspired you to raise your prices. It also sounds that setting a few boundaries with how you work might be a good idea. For example, I always offer to clarify any part of the reading in an email after the actual reading, but if I am asked a new question or need to lay out new cards, I politely suggest a new Tarot reading is purchased. You might like to consider where your boundaries lie, too, when it comes to follow-up questions.

Thank you Brigit for this article. I’ve had several of my clients tell me I am under selling myself as well as family and friends. Some of the clients take advantage of me since I always answer follow up questions. It would turn into 5 to 10 questions and the reading for less than $5.00 I felt under valued. I’ve had this gift since childhood and never used it for profit until a year ago when my family needed extra income. I didn’t know what I was worth so I undersold myself. I am going to gradually raise my prices to what I am worth. Your article and pricing helped a great deal, I am so grateful. Have a blessed day.

In Oklahoma, we have OPERA, and various forms or psychic fairs. One thing I do is strive to make table first, and then go from there. My reading style is unique from the other readers and so I do charge 25.00 as of now. I have been doing it professionally for a year now, I do a 3 card to the point lay out for 15.00 and also for those who don’t have a lot of money I do in trade, I have gotten people to bring me made stuff, lunch, and more… it really just all depends on the energy you want to bring to your circle.
I keep mine positive, because sometimes you get negativity and they hear what they don’t want to hear… and get upset. You got to know it isn’t you.
Problems I have with many online readings is that they want you to keep the person on, while they make the 5.99 per minute… sad, and wrong, also very negative karma.
I was told by one just to tell the customer what they wanted to hear… I had to say sorry I can’t do that, if I draw a reversed Moon… it is a warning to me.
I am also finding when I read more things are opening.l, and developing, for me the 25.00 is good with the metamorphosis I am going through. Psychic development is awesome and scary too.

Absolutely! $60 per hour is beyond fair! Think about the impact you have on your clients, particularly if you help them to see their way out of challenging situations.

I also recommend experimenting with different prices. See what happens when you set your fee above the average, say $80. Perhaps new clients will pay more attention to your unique skills and what you have to offer them.

Hello! First time posting since I started following your website. I attended your webinar on July 8. (9th for you I believe).
I have been studying hardcore for the last six months. At least 2 or more hours a day. (Im addicted lol)
I have got my website up, cards out, ect. I also own a metaphysical store in Fort Smith Ar (US). (We already had a readers tent; readers can come on a comission type basis)
I am doing free readings for July to get the word out, and am doing a charity event Saturday. (All proceeds to benefit a little boy) (!freaked out! Lol)
My question is: although I am new to readings, I have excellent feedback and have other abilities I could market. I am a Certified Chios Master Teacher, and I’m thinking of adding this service into my reading. So, based on being new, I should be cheaper, but my other stuff makes me worth more? I have based my services at $60/hr (for other things) and my readings at $30/half hour. Based on my info, (or looking at my website) does this seem fair?
Our area $60/hr is usually for mediums.

Well, I’m not so sure it is a matter of ‘should’, but rather ‘could’. People could do this for free or for fun, and they do. And that’s a wonderful thing. But there are also a bunch of people who do this as a profession, who dedicate themselves to learning not just the Tarot but deeper aspects of psychology, spirituality, history, symbolism, mystic arts, and so on, who add value to clients’ lives because they help them to see a way forward. Then it’s appropriate to be charging for your work.

Hello. I’ve recently started looking at Tarot cards, and learning them. Not to a great extent (If anyone has any advice feel free) But I was wondering why would people charge such a price, people should do this for free, it’s fun, interesting and gives people a second version of their future.
