This month’s Tarot Circle is from Rose from Australia who has created a New Year’s Tarot reading, using the Celtic Cross.

As with all Tarot Circle posts, I’ll provide my initial thoughts about Rose’s Tarot reading and then I’ll hand it over to you, the reader, to use the comments section to write what you see.

Remember, there’s no right or wrong and you don’t have to be an experienced Tarot reader to comment. This is your opportunity to learn and to share with your fellow aspiring Tarot readers!

Rose’s Tarot Reading

Rose asked the Tarot about the year ahead. Using a slightly modified version of the Celtic Cross Tarot spread and the Radiant Rider Waite deck, she drew the following Tarot cards.

  1.  Now – Ten of Wands
  2.  What supports /blocks me – Hermit
  3.  What to do for 2015 – Nine of Cups
  4.  Last year (2014) – Death
  5.  What not to do in 2015 – Moon
  6.  The future – Hierophant
  7.  Hopes and fears – Lovers
  8.  Those around me/environment – Nine of Swords
  9.  State of mind/attitude – Six of Cups
  10.  Outcome – Star

Rose’s Interpretation of her Tarot Reading

image1While Vie come to the end of a project, I now need to look up and acknowledge what I’ve achieved and used those skills instead of just plodding on. I’ve worked hard and driven to get to where I am in my work life, but now, I’ve realized that something new is needed to reconnect with myself.

The Hermit both supports and blocks me as I’ve been keeping my spirituality and healing skills relatively to myself instead I share this to help others and myself on the path to a more calm and spiritual path.

It forecast changes at work, but it is important that I need to patiently wait. The 9 of Cups is also a card of ‘nearing completion’ which reminds me not to become complacent in all I have at the moment, while I’ve achieved much it reminds me to actually use my skills and not just sit back and expect things to happen.

Last year I did let go of many mental aspects which will help me move forward this year as I started looking at what will make me happy in the future and the need to start transitioning towards it. I needed to shed some old beliefs if I truly want to move on. The Moon is there to show me what not to do and that is to stop a second guessing myself. I should develop a tough exterior and trust my inner self more. There will always be supporters and detractors. If my dreams for the future are to be realized I need to stop being too cautions and actually act on those dreams.

2015 is a time for me to use all I’ve learn by putting structure and procedures in place to share my knowledge as one day I’d like to teach Tarot classes, Reiki and Spiritual development.   My hope is in harmony in this year of transition as I start to do more of what I love and fulfills me.  While knowing I have support around me, there is an element of stress expected this year.

I saw the 9 of Swords as both stress on my part as well as dealing with my husband’s anxiety. My stress is more often in my head rather than a physical aspect.   Communication and sharing my gift is important and I need to let go of old, past habits and thoughts which could hold me back. There will, however, definitely are times when I look back to the calmer times before all this change.   The final outcome being the star… It’s going to be a good year and my time to shine with my wishes and hopes come true if I truly let go of what’s holding me back and trust my intuition. Everything is there for a year of transition and change towards happiness as long as I actually take action and don’t let my ego self limit.

With 6 out of the 10 cards being majors so much will be happening with little control on my part, but what I can influence is how I manage/handle these universal karmic events.   With 2015 being numerologically representing 8 a year of change, action and movement I believe my cards reflect this.

Six of the cards fall into the 8, 9, 10 high end range showing that I’m coming near the end of the status quo that was 2014 and life is going to change as I move into a new chapter.   The Hermit, Moon, Hierophant, death and star all herald what I know needs to happen and that’s to stop being insecure, let go of old beliefs and habits and follow intuition and spiritual path and passion for Tarot, Reiki and Clairvoyant healing.   A year of personal transition to a happier and more fulfilling life.

Note:   There are no Pentacle cards in the spread which indicates to me that financial aspects will not be a concern during this transition.

My Interpretation of Rose’s Celtic Cross Tarot Reading

Rose has done a wonderful job of interpreting her Tarot reading. I wanted to add some personal observations of the cards that jumped out at me the most, to further expand on what Rose has already discovered in her interpretation.

Look at the connection between the Ten of Wands (present) and the Nine of Cups (what to do for 2015). The Ten indicates the completion of a task or a cycle, but instead of starting back over with the Ace, we see the Nine – just one before the Ten. To me, this is a sign that Rose doesn’t have to start over in 2015. In fact, there were some gifts or blessings from the past that she may not have fully realized until now. By appreciating what is already there, she can continue to grow and create contentment for herself.

With the Hierophant in the Future position, Rose may also benefit by aligning herself with a teacher who can offer a roadmap or a tried-and-tested path forward. While she has been gaining important life lessons along the way, a teacher may soon appear who can help add to her success and help her reach her goals that little bit faster, or more easily. She doesn’t have to do everything on her own (Hermit) but she can use her inner compass to guide her towards what teachings she will apply and what teachings she may choose to ignore.

There may be others in Rose’s life who seem quite concerned or worried about her path (Nine of Swords). If Rose feels any ‘energy vampires’ or negative Nellies around her, she may be best to wish them well and let them go (“Namaste and on your way!”). Otherwise, she may be feeding the fears (Moon) that she has worked so hard to let go of (Death).

Instead, she has the Lovers on her side – a sign that if she continues to follow her Higher path, she will find true alignment and purpose in what she does. She needs to surround herself with positive, affirming people, and trust in her deepest values in order to live the life she was meant to live. I see a lot of energy around fulfilling a soul purpose here, and letting go of someone who may be trying to bring her down to a lower vibration.

And of course, with the Star card as the Outcome, I see that Rose will be very successful in this personal transformation that is unfolding for her.

The overall feeling that I am getting from this spread is that there seems to be quite a lot going on beneath the surface or sub-conciously which needs to be recognised & addressed. The Moon card in particular suggests old habits & fears which need to be let go of which can mean having to move out of comfort zones & into unfamiliar territory. I can’t help but feel that there are issues connected to a significant relationship in her life which could be holding her back in some way & the appearance of The Hermit & The Hierophant could suggest seeking professional guidance could be what is needed as sense she has a tendency to try and shoulder all the responsibility & in danger of taking on too much. I agree that she should start looking at ways to connect more with the outside world as feel at the moment she is hiding her talents & instead could be using them to help or teach others & also feel there could be other courses or study for her as a student. I sense at times she lacks confidence or tends to put her own needs behind those of others & needs to recognise her own happiness is just as important and not be afraid to put herself first.

thanks Sally. Agree I need to move out of my comfort zone and stretch myself in connecting more with outside world. And old beliefs of putting others first at my own cost is something Ive become aware of and making concerted effort to changes.

I did my own interpretation before reading Rose and Bridges and as I am very new to readings was pretty happy that I came close to what both of you thought. I saw the moon as telling you to follow your dreams, to stop hiding in the dark and follow the path even though you don’t know where it will head. I also feel that you are listening way too much to other peopl’s opinions about what you should be doing this year 9 swords and i feel that the 6 cups is saying stop smell the roses remember how exciting new things could be. Maybe the star is telling you to remember your childhood dreams I think the overall spread is about learning, looking at your spiritual path and be true to yourself as to where you really want to go
